Your recommendation sounds like what the Igbo people did with the Nigerian-Biafran War, when we decided that we would be better off separating from the rest of Nigeria. But we were outnumbered by allies like the British, who sided against us because of the pact they made with Northern Nigeria that would solidify the lifetime supply of oil.

We lost the war but at least we tried!
