The media strikes again! And this time it’s pathetically predictable, given the lethargic mechanisms of social media that basically dictates the channels of an ailing media, desperately trying to keep up with the ever-evolving shifts of reporting so-called “breaking news.”
There’s no innate desire to uphold journalistic integrity above all else.
From CBS staple, Gayle King’s inappropriate grilling of the late Kobe Bryant’s grieving friend, and fellow basketball star Lisa Leslie, merely days after his tragic death in a helicopter crash to the Nicki Minaj COVID vaccine debacle, that MSNBC’s Joy Reid missed an opportunity to reshape into an in-depth discussion about vaccine hesitancy — it’s clear we’re embodying an era of debilitating extremes.
There must be a salacious element attached to our online consumption, in the form of standardized clickbait featuring outrageous headlines that very often present the exact opposite of what the article is tackling, and the extended invites more visibility to the worst form of humans, who are recognized for their damning contributions to this nation’s current national emergencies.
