This is stunning and echoes my sentiments. A couple of years ago — I was asked to stop writing for a very well known pub that caters to black women because my articles weren’t bringing in enough traffic.

I wasn’t offended. I was actually relieved. It was exhausting churning out different variations about the natural tendencies of natural hair.

But. I realized that I am indeed a writer. Not a content manipulator.
