Thanks for reading! I totally agree that older women of color are under-represented while their White counterparts are able to thrive well into their eighties. The imbalance in the industry is compounded by the fact that Naomi is the default representative and nobody else seems to be able to keep up with her demand. I don’t consider her viability in her forties as an encouragement. It just seems like she’s being used at the expense of comparable talent.
We need more fashion editors of color to help with equality — that would be my suggestion.
