It’s tough. But, I refuse to accept that it’s harder for me because I’m a Black woman. I think when we accept that reality — it ultimately does more harm than good. It’s so easy to rely on that messaging based on statistics — but the truth is that dating is mutha! Nobody is having a swell time of it — and even those in long-term relationships are barely able to hang on.

I know tons of Black women who are happy in relationships and tons more who are aimlessly searching. It’s a mixed bag.

Everybody regardless of race has a harder time as they age.
