I’m glad it resonated. No being “white” is generally not a bad thing — and the purpose of labeling Tyler Perry this way is really to drive home the fact that Hollywood still remains a “purely white” establishment that institutes the same principles when it comes to casting and marketing.

Perry is resolute in his need to avoid this truth which is evident in his “eyes wide shut” approach. He’s “one of the guys” and that’s why I describe him the way I do.
