“And Just Like That” Makes a Strong Case for Unbothered Aging
And I’m here for it!
The highly-anticipated second season of And Just Like That is currently underway, and if there was any doubt about the enduring appeal of this timely spinoff from its famed predecessor — we can now rest easy that our favorite gals in the city are in the most capable hands.
As a steadily vulnerable industry weathers the severe consequences of blatantly undervaluing overworked and underpaid talents in all qualifying categories — I’m struck by the power of dialogue and the collection of words that magically move plot lines and provide that relatability factor we live for.
Sex and the City became a global phenomenon because of the brilliance of relying on the backdrop of an iconic city as the main character. All the players had to do was play and gamble on life’s buffet of options — for better or worse.
And now — after a wildly successful TV series and two big-screen treatments — the popular franchise has now settled into its mature phase and the results are refreshingly impactful.
Perhaps it’s pure luck that I happen to be in the age range that permits my ability to appreciate the golden gems of And Just Like That even more.
